B. Everett Jordan Lake is situated along the western edge of the Durham Triassic Basin in the North Carolina Piedmont region and is fed by the Haw and New Hope rivers. Forested hills of mixed hardwoods and pines, including loblolly pine, oak, hickory, and sweetgum, drape the rolling shoreline. Wildlife is abundant throughout the woodlands and wetlands. White-tailed deer, gray foxes, beavers, and eastern gray squirrels make their homes on the project. Birds in the area are exceptionally diverse, featuring the majestic bald eagle and osprey, alongside wild turkey, wood ducks, great blue herons, pine warblers, and Carolina wrens. A wealth of outdoor activities awaits visitors to B.

Getting there
From Raleigh , take US-1 South toward Sanford. Continue for approximately 25 miles to Exit 79 (Moncure/Pittsboro). Turn right off the exit ramp onto Moncure-Pittsboro Road and proceed for approximately 1/2 mile. Turn right onto Jordan Dam Road. Visitor Assistance Center is at the end of the road near the dam.
