Campsite AtlasMethodology & data sources
All campground data comes from RIDB, the Recreation Information Database behind Recreation.gov, via its full nightly database export. Data was last retrieved August 30, 2026; we refresh nightly and rebuild affected pages.
We normalize facility records, join campsite counts by type, roll campsite photos up to their campgrounds, and link each reservable campground directly to its Recreation.gov booking page. Where the export publishes no data for a field, we say so rather than guess.
Known limitations
- Reservability reflects the federal booking system; some first-come campgrounds accept reservations through concessionaires we do not track.
- Site counts are as reported by managing agencies and can lag on-the-ground changes.
- Photos are Recreation.gov media, credited as provided.
