Galt's Ferry Day Use Area is situated on Allatoona Lake on the Etowah River, a tributary of the Coosa River. The serene lake and peaceful surroundings offer a relaxing getaway from the nearby city of Atlanta, just 35 miles south. Visitors enjoy various water sports, hiking, hunting and viewing wildlife. Boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and swimming are popular activities on the 11-mile long Allatoona Lake. Its 270 miles of shoreline provide great opportunities for picnicking, hiking, hunting and relaxing. Galt's Ferry Day Use Area has an open shelter with a maximum seating capacity of 100 people. A restroom is within 50 yards of the shelter. A horseshoe pit is adjacent to the shelter.

Getting there
Northbound on I-75 take exit 277 (GA Hwy 92). Turn right off exit onto GA Hwy 92. Travel 1 mile to traffic light at Hunt Road. Turn left onto Hunt Road. Continue straight at 4-way stop and road changes to Kellogg Creek Road. Travel approximately 1 mile and turn left onto Galt's Ferry Landing Road.
