Waxmyrtle Campground is located 8 miles south of Florence within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. The campground is situated near the beach, several hiking trails, and a non-motorized section of open dunes. These nearby attractions, combined with excellent campground amenities, make Waxmyrtle an ideal camping destination. Waxmyrtle also borders the picturesque Siltcoos River Estuary, where wildlife viewing is a popular pastime for campers. The campground serves as the starting point for the Waxmyrtle Trail, which follows the Siltcoos River as it winds its way to the Pacific Ocean. Other nearby trails include the Lagoon Trail and the Chief Tsiltcoos Trail.

Getting there
From Florence, OR, travel seven miles south on Highway 101 to the Siltcoos Beach Access Road. Turn right onto the Siltcoos Beach Access Road and proceed one mile west to Waxmrytle Campground. Turn left (south) at the bridge; the campground entrance is across the bridge on the south shoreline of the Siltcoos River.
