Silver Thread Campground

This small single loop campground has eleven sites. Six are gravel pull through sites and five are dead end gravel spurs. There is a beautiful waterfall within a few hundred feet that you can hike to easily from the south end of the campground. The campground elevation is 9,500 feet. This campground, just off the side of Colorado State Highway 149, is well suited for overnight stays and picnics with many level, pull-through camping sites. The area offers fishing in South Clear Creek and Brown Lakes. A short easy trail leads to the beauty of South Clear Creek Falls. Aspen provides shade for some of the campground sites while spruce trees abound on the surrounding hillsides.

This campground sits inside Rio Grande National Forest.

Each unit is published as a centre point and an acreage rather than a boundary, so this section stands it in for a circle of the same area. Whether a campground is inside, and how far it is from one it is outside, are both approximate.
